River Tours
Your river tour depends on the length of time you’d like to float and the type of area you want to explore. Once you choose your tour, you’ll meet Joey for gear, training, and head out on the water! Throughout the float you’ll be able to hear from Joey about the history of the area and unique points about the ecosystem, while also having continuous coaching on floating the river.

Our tours range from 2 to 6 hours, and range from beginner to experienced in difficulty. Group size will vary based on age and skill set of the individuals, so contact us today to discuss booking the right tour for your group!

A. C. River Excursions is a guided kayak tour company that offers a hands-on outdoor recreation experience in nature. We are passionate about conservation and education related to the Natural State, the local area, and the surrounding environment.
Where are you located?
Newport, Arkansas, but we accommodate and can facilitate patrons’ needs within an hour radius of our location.
What types of river excursions do you offer?
Rivers with safe, casually flowing waters and lakes, when rivers are not accommodating due to wind, weather, water levels, or dangerous currents.
Do I need prior experience to join a trip?
No, we welcome first-time paddlers.
How do I book a river expedition?
You can book through our contact form or by calling 321-544-4422.
Do I need to make a reservation in advance?
Preferably yes, especially during the busy season, so we can plan accordingly.
Is there an age limit for participants?
Any patron under 18 must have a guardian signature. If under 16, they must be accompanied by an adult.
We limit children under 5 years old on a case-by-case basis and also the area of the float. For example suitable for lake floats, not for flowing rivers.
What happens in case of an emergency on the river?
My guides and I are First Aid and CPR certified. We carry first aid kits, phones, and emergency communication tools to ensure a prompt response to any incident.
Are there any physical requirements for participants?
Please be advised there are weight limits on some kayaks. We can accommodate various needs, but please notify us of any accessibility concerns in advance.
What kind of wildlife might we see on the trip?
A multitude of various birds, mammals, and reptiles native to Arkansas—like herons, turtles, otters, and even bald eagles.
How do you ensure environmental sustainability on your excursions?
Small groups, limited access and take-out areas, and leave-no-trace practices. We aim to reduce our environmental impact and teach conservation awareness.
Are there any conservation rules we need to follow?
Yes, the Code of Paddling Ethics listed on the Arkansas Canoe Club website is a good guide. We also brief all guests before trips on key guidelines.
Can I bring my pet on a river expedition?
Yes, small dogs and service dogs—if they are water-tolerant and can sit calmly in a kayak—are welcome. We accommodate most small dogs under 50 pounds as long as they are not aggressive, are well-behaved, and have a life jacket on.
Do you offer gift certificates for trips?
Yes, contact us for arrangements.
Are there restroom facilities available during the trip?
It’s best to use the restroom before or after the trip. Some excursions may pass by facilities, but many do not.
Can I bring a camera or phone on the expedition?
Yes. However, we can arrange for pictures to be taken so you can relax and not worry about getting your gear wet.
